The History of WHITE STAG
The Almost World Famous White Stag Rally was conceived back in 1990 by the demented minds of Steve Lotsofsky and Jan Cutler, co-owners of Reno BMW . It started not as a rally but rather a ride to eat event. The concept was that one must simply ride a motorcycle from Reno Nevada to Beatty Nevada to have dinner. The catch was that this was to take place in the dead of winter as in January. I was among the 5 riders to partake in the start of what has now grown to be the longest continuously running of a rally. In fact the next event in 2014 will mark 25 Years! Back to the beginning... I rode from my home in Las Vegas to Reno and then headed south to Beatty the next morning with temps at 12 degrees and snowing. How much better could it get?
After about three years Jan decided that the event should take on a new direction and I was appointed the lucky candidate. Since then it has become a mainstay in the LD Riding community as a must do rally to start off the season. Riders from as many as 16 states have joined the magic of White Stag.
This event always sells out and is limited to the first 50 riders so if you have any intention of joining us next year, sign up as soon as registration opens as it surely will be full quickly with this being a milestone event in the history of the Stag. See you in 2014. Stay tuned for details.
